The Dallas Videofest celebrates the most innovative contributions and pioneers of the medium of film and television from all decades, whether they were first shown through a fiber optic cable or a Betamax tape.
The 29th edition of this Dallas movie and TV lover’s staple kicks off Saturday, October 1st, with the special presentation of the Ernie Kovacs Award to Monkees’ member and film producer Michael Nesmith at the Kessler Theater (1230 W. Davis St.) followed by a screening of Nesmith’s cult 1988 film Tapeheads starring John Cusack and Tim Robbins.
Nesmith will also be at the theater to accept the award and take questions from the audience about his pioneering work in film and television. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the award presentation starts at 8 p.m.
