You’re probably familiar with Carmen as a highly dramatic opera, but this adaptation by Cuban dance luminary Carlos Acosta is focused, passionate and more contemporary than its basis. And the contemporary feel is carried through to the TBT’s follow-up, Danse Á Grande Vitesse, a company premiere piece by choreographer Christopher Wheeldon that pushes dancers to make the most out of a minimalist score by way of amplified movement.
