Take the stairs when you can.

Go to bed one minute earlier each night.

You might not think that a bedtime of one minute earlier will do much good for your sleep schedule – but, in fact, it will! Going to bed one minute earlier every night for two months will grant you a whole extra hour of sleep, which will go far in boosting your mood, memory, and more. If that isn’t enough to convince you to get to bed earlier, consider that people who are sleep deprived face a higher risk of obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and heart problems, and even a higher likelihood of car accidents.

Stand up and move every 20 minutes.

Did you know that standing up from your desk, couch, or chair every 20 minutes or so can actually prolong your life? According to one study, women who logged six hours of sitting time during their non-working hours were 37 percent more likely to die earlier than peers who sat for just three hours over the course of a day (outside of work). As for men, sedentary men are 18 percent more likely to die earlier than their more active peers. So, get up and move – your longevity depends on it!
